During our Inquiry Play sessions there are a number of students who enjoy constructing things out of boxes. If you have any empty boxes at home instead of putting them in the recycling bin, 8E would really appreciate it if you could donate them to us.

Thank you

WOW!! This year has gone by SO quickly, it feels like we have only just started the year and now we are in the last week of the school year.  Don’t forget Wednesday is our Fun Day with 6AN. Students can bring a board game, sports equipment and bubbles. There is also a picnic to be held outside/ inside the classroom from 12:20pm- 12:50pm and parents are very welcome to come along, during this time, with food to share with their child. If your child has a lunch order on this day it will be at the usual time of 12:40pm.

Also tomorrow is the final day to bring in something for the food drive. Thank you to all who have contributed. Friday, the last day of school, is a casual day. There is no charge for the day. Don’t forget the last day of school is early dismissal of 2:05pm. There will also be a very brief assembly in the Pavilion at 1:50pm

Finally, a HUGE thank you to all the families for all your help and support this year. It has been a fabulous year, you all have beautiful children and I will miss them all a lot. Have a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing break.

Tomorrow, Thursday 3rd December, is the End of Year Concert. Students are able to come to school dressed in their costume and stay in it for the day. If your child does not have a costume of the concert they can wear their school clothes and I have some tinsel I can place on their wrists. We are all looking forward to the concert and showing all the families the dance we have been working hard on to learn this term.

If your child went to Karrara Kindy, you would know Maddie, the Kindy Director. She has got a new position at another kindy and will not be returning to Karrara. Because of this, a couple of the parents have organised a thank you card. If you would like to write in the card it will be located in the Front Office.

Thank you to all the families who have already donated non perishable items to the school’s Christmas Food Drive. Your help is greatly appreciated. If you have not donated yet and would like to there is still time. Items can be given to the Front Office.

Week 7

This is the last week students can have library books. All books need to be returned to the Library by this Friday, 20th November, as the Library needs to do a stock take of all resources. Because of this, this is also the last week students will be able to take home level readers. This Friday I will be asking students for any readers they may have so I can return them to the Library.

As it is nearing the end of the year, teachers are needing to finalise their data collection. Because of this, I will not be sending home any more sight words in students Communication Books. If you would still like to work on words with your child you could revise all the words which have been sent home this year to ensure they have not forgotten any of them.

Next Weeks Sharing topic asks students to bring in the instructions of how to make a Christmas craft. However, If your child would prefer to bring in the craft made and not bring in the instructions that is ok but they would still need to explain how they made the Christmas craft.
